New Delhi: The rise of nationalistic Hindu sentiment notwithstanding, India's beef sector will continue to lead globally, according to Fitch group firm BMI Research. Dip in local consumption, following ban on cow slaughter, has allowed the country to record very large exportable surpluses. "Beef production will grow at a steady 4 pc annually to reach 5.1 million tonnes in 2020," it said. India overtook Brazil as the largest beef exporter in 2014. PTI
