Mumbai, August 31

The police custody of Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai, all of whom are accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, has been extended till September 5.

All the three were produced before the Bandra Magistrate’s Court this afternoon. The prosecution told the court that fresh charges of attempt to murder under Sections 307 and 328 of the IPC had been added in the matter.

The three are now being charged with attempting to murder Mikhail, son of Indrani Mukerjea as well, police sources said. The court rejected arguments by defence counsel that Indrani and the rest had been questioned for nearly 90 hours since their arrest and their police custody was no longer required. — TNS
