Jadeja eatery in soup over food quality
Ahmedabad, October 6
Several fast food joints in Rajkot city, including one owned by Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, were raided and a large quantity of bad quality eatables stored beyond the expiry dates destroyed today.
The health department of the Rajkot municipal corporation conducted the raids on “Jaddu’s Food Field”, a restaurant owned by Jadeja, a franchise joint of the global fast food chain McDonalds, Verona Italica and some other fast food joints in Rajkot to check on the quality of food articles served by the restaurants.
A total of 212 kg of eatables were found to be of poor quality, not carrying expiry date, and fungus infested bakery products. Jadeja’s restaurant, managed by his sister, was found to have stocked cooked food for a relatively long time. The raw materials too were found to be stored in unhealthy environs. — TNS
