Jaipur varsity Chairman arrested for molestation

Jaipur, September 6

Prof Balvir S Tomar, Chairman of NIMS University in Jaipur, was today arrested by the Ranchi police on charges of attempt to rape and molestation.

The police got transit remand of Prof Tomar, who was produced at a local court, and took him to the Moti Dungari police station.

A case against Tomar was lodged by a student of the university at the Chutia police station in 2015. The second-year student of the Bachelor of Radiology and Imaging Technology had accused Tomar of attempting to rape her in a hotel. She alleged that Tomar had called her to his room on some pretext and made inappropriate advances.

Earlier, another 20-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh, an employee of NIMS, had accused Tomar, his wife and son of alleged rape and being forced to enter into sexual relations with two other men in 2015.
