  • A Delhi-based artist has been drawing sketches of soldiers, who died for the country, for free and personally delivering these to their families
  • The initiative called “Portraits of Patriots” is a unique venture led by Hutansh Verma (pic) and came into existence in May 2014. The 28-year-old artist says he sketches and then paints the soldiers’ portraits who sacrificed their lives for the nation
  • Hutansh, who teaches fine arts at a school in Noida, and has his studio in Delhi, says he started the project after his father egged him on. So far, he has made 57 portraits
  • He also received a call from the Army Headquarters. “I was surprised that my work has been acknowledged by the Army. Later, I was invited to sketch the portraits of Paramvir Chakra winners,” Hutansh added — Tns
