The CBI today arrested the chairman of Deccan Chronicle Group of Publications, T Venkatram Reddy, on charges of loan fraud. 

A team of CBI officials from Bangalore arrived in the city in the morning and quizzed Venkatram Reddy for his alleged fraudulent transactions with Canara Bank. Reddy is charged with defaulting on a Rs 358-crore loan from Canara Bank, Secunderabad. It is also alleged that he had forged documents to obtain the loan. The CBI  had registered a case of alleged cheating and criminal conspiracy against Reddy in 2013. — TNS
