New Delhi, December 25
A man was killed and five people, a woman among them, were injured after the basement of a building under construction collapsed on Friday, the police said.
The accident occurred around 10 am in New Friends Colony in the southern part of the city.
"All victims have been identified as labourers. They were digging out soil from the basement when the building collapsed," an officer said.
The deceased, identified as Chotu, was in his 50s.
Five others suffered minor injuries and were pulled out of the rubble.
A case of negligence has been registered against the owner of the building, a police officer said. — IANS
