Patna, July 6
Opposition’s presidential nominee and ‘Bihar ki beti’ Meira Kumar will arrive in Patna on a three-day visit on Thursday evening.
On Friday morning Kumar will attend a function organised on her father and former Deputy Prime Minister Jagjivan Ram’s death anniversary at her native home in Bhojpur’s Chandawa village.
She is expected to meet legislators of the RJD and the Congress, while the JD-U will skip the meeting in Patna.
JD-U has already announced to support NDA presidential candidate and former Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind before Kumar was made presidential candidate.
“If Kumar was Bihar ki beti, she should have visit Bihar first but she chose Gujarat first after she was declared presidential pick by Congress”, JD-U spokesman Neeraj Kumar, said.
After Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JD-U announced its support to Kovind, RJD chief Lalu Prasad had termed Nitish’s decision a ‘historic blunder’.
Since then, it is said that all was not well in the grand alliance (JD-U, RJD and Congress) ruling in Bihar.
