Modi to review projects across country via Pragati

NEW DELHI: To give impetus to stalled projects and ensure their timely execution across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark upon a regular direct interaction with officials in the states and the central ministries starting with the first on Wednesday.

To give impetus to stalled projects and ensure their timely execution across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark upon a regular direct interaction with officials in the states and the central ministries starting with the first on Wednesday.

Under the scheme, specific set of projects will come under review, including those for which the Centre is funding and public grievances whose resolution will allow benefits to flow to people.

Entitled Pragati, an acronym for Pro-active Governance and Timely Implementation, the programme will be conducted through video conferences to be attended by Chief Secretaries of states and secretaries to the Government of India on maximum of four projects under each category.

The meeting, according to sources, will be held on fourth Wednesday every month allowing the Prime Minister take direct charge of the problems resulting in some 700 projects that are held up for various reasons.
