Mughal Sarai is finally named after Deen Dayal Upadhyay

The Mughal Sarai Junction has finally been re-named Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction announces a notice of the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department.
The notice signed by Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Agarawal on June 4 has been dispatched to the Railway Board, the offices of Survey of India Dehradun and other offices for information and action.
A year ago, in a cabinet meeting on June 6, Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath government had approved to rename the Mughalsarai railway station after Deendayal Upadhyay the late RSS ideologue and Jan Sangh leader who was found dead at Mughalsarai railway station in 1968.
Another cabinet meeting on June 27 had decided to re-name the Mughalsarai municipality as Deendayal Nagar.
After almost a year long process of engaging with the Ministry of Railways the state government has now issued a notification re-naming the railway station after the RSS ideologue.
The erstwhile Mughalsarai railway station is the fourth busiest station in the country with about 125 passenger trains passing through it.
The decision to re-name Agra airport after Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya had been taken in April, 2017.
These initiatives are part of the Yogi government’s year-long celebrations to commemorate the memory of the RSS ideologue in his centenary year.
