Mulayam great grandfather, Lalu granddad

Lucknow: Thursday rang in happiness and joy in the first family of Uttar Pradesh as Mainpuri MP Tej Pratap Singh Yadav became the father of a baby boy, making SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav a great grandfather. Tej Pratap is his grand nephew and is married to Raj Laxmi, daughter of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.  IANS

Book based on Arunachal wins UK award

New Delhi: A book which tells the story of the Apatani tribe of Arunachal Pradesh in British India has bagged UK’s MM Bennetts Award for Historical Fiction 2016. Stuart Blackburn was presented the award for his novel “Into the Hidden Valley”. His exploration of what happens when this settled civilisation forcibly collides with the British Empire portrays the impact of the forces of colonialism on both sides. PTI
