New Delhi, October 21

Canada’s flag carrier Air Canada today inaugurated its first non-stop flight from Vancouver that will arrive here on Saturday.

The seasonal, four-times-a-week flight compliments carrier’s Delhi-Toronto-Delhi non-stop service, which is being converted into a daily flight from next month, the company said in a release.

Besides, Air Canada would launch flight services to Mumbai from Toronto, starting July next year as part of its global expansion plans.

“We are delighted to inaugurate our second route between Canada and India right in time for Diwali celebrations. Our non-stop flights from our Asia-Pacific Vancouver hub feature 787-9 Dreamliner service and offer the shortest elapsed flying time from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles to the Indian subcontinent,” said Benjamin Smith, president, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada.

Air Canada’s non-stop flight, coupled with its streamlined and seamless connections process at Vancouver will save 3-5 hours compared to itineraries with connections in Europe or Asia, he said.

The Vancouver-Delhi flight would be the only non-stop service linking Vancouver and the Indian subcontinent, the airline said. — PTI
