On cards, aptitude test for Class IX students

A new aptitude test is being prepared by HRD ministry to help students assess their academic strengths. A team of experts is preparing a basic prototype of the proposed test for Class IX students.

Officials of CBSE and NCERT and psychometric experts are part of a task force set up by the ministry for the purpose of preparing the test material. The psychometric test is expected to help students decide which career path to choose by identifying their areas of interest.

It will be an additional option for students and their parents to decide which subjects and courses should be pursued. Based on feedback, the ministry will decide how to take it forward in collaboration with states. — TNS
