Lucknow, June 1
Ten recruitment examinations, including PCS (Mains) Examination-2018, have been postponed following the arrest of UP Public Service Commission exam controller Anju Lata Katiyar by the state STF in connection with a paper leak scam.
On Friday, aspirants had staged a demonstration at the UPPSC headquarters in Prayagraj, demanding the cancellation of all examinations conducted under the controllership of Katiyar.
UPPSC secretary Jagdish issued a notification announcing the postponement of the exams owing to “unavoidable conditions”. The PCS (Mains) Examination—2018, formally known as Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (Mains) Exam-2018, was scheduled to begin from June 17. The decision to postpone the examinations was taken a day after the STF raided the UPPSC headquarters in Prayagraj in connection with the paper leak of two subjects of LT Grade Teachers Examination held last year.
AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi accused the state government of protecting the people responsible for the paper leak. “The contract for printing the UPPSC exam paper was given to a defaulter. Some officers of the commission connived with the defaulter and compromised the examination for commission and bribery. The youth is being cheated and the UP Government is looking after the interest of those who take commission,” she tweeted. — TNS
