Pooja Express train’s three coaches derail near Phulera in Rajasthan

Jaipur, July 4

Three coaches of Ajmer-Jammu Tawai Pooja Express train on Wednesday derailed on Jaipur-Phulera double track around 3.43 pm. No casualties were reported.

Three sleeper coaches — S2, S3 and S9 — derailed when the Pooja Express number 12413 departed from Phulera junction towards Jaipur, North Western Railway CPRO Tarun Jain said.

Pooja Express is bound between Ajmer and Jammu Tawai railway stations.

“No passenger was injured in the mishap, and restoration work is underway and the track would be restored soon”, he claimed.

The passenger train was delayed. Senior officers from NWR also came to supervise the work.

In another similar incident, in the wee hours of Wednesday, one SLR coach of Lalgarh-Dibrugarh Express (train number 15910) derailed near Hanumangarh after hitting a wild animal. There was no casualty and the restoration of track was completed by early morning for smooth running of trains, NWR spokesman said.
