SC rejects plea against UP govt’s pension scheme for poor

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea challenging the Akhilesh Yadav governments Samajwadi pension scheme for the poor

A bench comprising Chief Justice JS Khehar and Justices DY Chandrachud and SK Kaul said the scheme is meant for the poor and ''it is a beautiful one''.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
