Panaji: British teenager Scarlett Keeling’s mother Fiona Mackeown has written a letter to the PM requesting his intervention in the case of her daughter’s death in Goa and has sought reinvestigation by setting up an SIT. “The local fishermen informed me she was murdered by a drug mafia, but as this mafia had strong connections, it would be pointless for me to approach the criminal justice system,” Fiona said in the letter to the PM, which she made public during a press meet. A Goa children’s court last week acquitted two men accused of drugging and leaving Scarlett to die. pti
