Sirohi is acting UPSC Chairman

New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission Member Alka Sirohi has been made acting chairman of the national selection body. The President had cleared Sirohi for performing the duties of the post of Chairman, UPSC, an official statement said. It said her tenure would begin from September 21. “The appointment would remain till further orders or till completion of her term as Member on January 3, 2017, whichever is earlier.” The Chairman’s post will fall vacant on September 20 upon the superannuation of incumbent Deepak Gupta.
