Two sisters of underworld don Chhota Rajan met him in CBI custody on Bhai Dooj today. One of their Delhi-based lawyers Gajender claimed Malini Satpal and Sunita Sakkharam Chavan met their brother at 6 pm. The CBI, however, did not confirm this.
After the court directed CBI’s investigating officer to consider their plea, Malini and Sunita along with their lawyers and a relative arrived at the CBI headquarters with an application to meet Rajan. They waited there for a few hours before being allowed to meet the officer concerned for permission. They later met Rajan in the presence of their lawyer after a gap of 27 years.
The sisters had moved an application in the CBI court seeking permission to meet their brother. The court directed the CBI to consider their plea. The sisters had pleaded that they had not met Rajan for the past 27 years.
During the hearing, which took place at the residence of Special CBI Judge Vinod Kumar, the court asked the sisters to approach CBI’s investigating officer with their application. Advocate Rajiv Jai, who appeared on behalf of the sisters, said the court had asked the IO to consider the plea keeping in view the security concerns.
