The minister said how Geeta crossed over to Pakistan some 10-12 years ago remains a mystery but was brought up by social organisation Edhi Foundation in that country.

The girl was brought back home after she identified the people in a photograph as her parents and siblings but denied that they were her biological parents at the airport on arrival.

Since then the girl is residing at an Indore-based institute for the deaf and mute.

The minister said the girl is eager to be reunited with her family and pangs of separation causes her anguish.
