‘T’ for transgender on railway tickets soon

New Delhi: Transgenders will now have the option of identifying themselves as the third gender with the Railway Board modifying reservation forms to provide the option ‘T’, besides ‘M’ (male) and ‘F’ (female). The ticket booking and cancellation forms currently have the option of ‘Transgender (Male/Female)’ to just ‘T’. In 2014, the Supreme Court created ‘third gender’ status for hijras or transgenders. Karuna’s great grandson ties nuptial knot

Chennai: DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s great grandson Manu Ranjith and actor Vikram’s daughter Akshita entered into wedlock here on Monday. Ranjith is the son of noted industrialist CK Ranganathan, who is married to Thenmozhi, daughter of MK Muthu, the eldest son of the 93-year old DMK patriarch. Akshita and Ranjith are collegemates and their engagement was held in July last. PTI
