Teachers’ Day: Priyanka salutes her teacher and Jessica Lal’s mom

AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday saluted her favourite teacher May La, also the mother of murdered model Jessica Lal to commemorate the Teacher’s Day.
Priyanka took to Twitter to recall May Lal and said “Every Teacher’s Day I remember my favourite teacher, May Lal. My friend and companion along a shared journey of grief and reconciliation. She lost her daughter but never lost her capacity for kindness and humanity.#TeachersDay#शिक्षकदिवस.”

May Lal died in 2000 awaiting justice for her daughter Jessica Lal who was killed by Manu Sharma, the son of then Congress leader Venod Sharma.
Manu Sharma was convicted by a Delhi High Court after a public outcry in 2006 and his conviction was upheld by the Supreme Court.
Manu Sharma is serving his life term at Tihar jail at present.
