Led by former Rajpur road MLA Rajkumar, Congress councillors raised the issue of poor sanitation conditions in Dehradun city. They asserted that cleanliness levels were not up to mark in the city and residents were facing inconveniences.

Former MLA Rajkumar held that heaps of garbage could be seen all across the city and the MC had failed to ensure proper cleanliness in the city. He asserted that several of cleanliness initiatives were started in Dehradun during the pervious state government, but none of those initiatives were now being implemented. He alleged it was strange that while on one hand, the MC had failed to provide better civic amenities to its existing areas, it was now planning to include new areas under its jurisdiction.
