Manpreet’s wife steps out to address people’s woes

Even as Finance Minister Manpreet Badal has been visiting his Bathinda urban constituency on weekends, his wife Veenu Badal has now started stepping out of her Badal village residence to address people’s civic issues. The move is being seen by many as a bid to curb “negative sentiment” against the state government.
Veenu has been visiting the city daily for the last few days, holding public meetings throughout the day. She come from Badal village daily in the morning and goes back late in the evening or at night.
Veenu is trying to make a direct connect with people as she is holds such meetings without any security.
The areas where she has held public meetings so far are Guru Ki Nagari, Model Town phase 2, Poojawala Mohalla and Dhobiana Basti. She plans to organise meetings in all 50 wards of the city.
She said, “Manpreet is preoccupied with his ministerial responsibilities due to which I have started meeting people on a daily basis. I and my team will ensure that every resident is heard.”
