GNDU asked to start admission process

The Punjab and Haryana High Court (HC) has asked Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) to initiate the admission process for M.Phil (Religious Studies). The entrance examination for it was held in 2018 after which a former university student, Avneet Kaur, who had also appeared in the examination, in her petition, had alleged irregularities in the entrance examination.

The test was conducted by the Department of Guru Nanak Studies, GNDU. She had also alleged changes in the questions papers in different sets. Earlier, the records of the entrance examination of M.Phil (Religious Studies) were also seized as per the orders of the HC. The court has asked the GNDU to initiate the admission process and the head of the department will not be associated with the admission process. “After receiving a copy of the same, we will work towards implementing it,” said Kamaljit Singh, Dean, Academic Affairs, GNDU.
