Head-on collision between car, tipper leaves 23-year-old dead

A 23-year-old person was killed in a head-on collision between a car and a tipper on the Banga road on Monday evening.
The deceased, who was driving the car, has been identified as Harpreet Singh, a resident of Thana village.
According to information, Harpreet was returning to his village in his car (PB-07-AY-6535) on the Banga road after attending a marriage function when the accident took place.
When he reached near Fatehpur Kalan village, his car collided with the tipper coming from the opposite side. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car blew up and the tipper overturned and fell into fields. After getting information, SHO Gagandeep Singh Ghumman reached the spot with a police party and took the body out of the car. The body was sent to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination.
