While lashing out at the BJP for vitiating the atmosphere with its divisive brand of politics Bansal said Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the other hand with his vision spelled out in the form of a people-friendly manifesto was trying to stitch Indian society back to its harmonious self.

The anarchy prevailing in the country and the anti-people policies and programmes of the BJP government, he said were reflecting on Chandigarh as well where the local Saffron party leadership had completely failed the people, who brought them to power.

Speaking on the occasion, NS Dhaliwal said, “We joined the Anna Hazare movement and later, the AAP with zeal to transform society, but of late we were feeling stifled as even founding members of the party were not being heard by the local leadership.”

“The new wave of changes, both in thought and actions, in the Congress has inspired us to join the party,” he added. Later, Bansal addressed a rally at Dadu Majra.
