Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal today accused Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of “being more loyal than the king on the issue of Rajiv Gandhi’s role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots”.

Sukhbir said, “Even Rajiv Gandhi never denied that he had ordered the massacre. In fact, he had actually justified the gruesome tragedy by comparing it to the trembling of the earth after the fall of a big tree. Still Capt Amarinder claims that Rajiv was innocent.” He criticised the leaders of Bargari Morcha for their silence on the Congress role in the riots. — TNS
