Amritsar, May 31
For the convenience of rail passengers and to clear extra rush, the Railways has introduced Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Express (08509), a special train. It will reach Amritsar at 8 pm on June 1 (single trip) after starting its journey from the southern peninsula on May 30. The train will comprise an AC three-tier, seven sleeper class, eight general class, two chair and two second class-cum-luggage van coaches.
En-route, Amritsar Express Special train will stop at Duvvada, Samalkot Junction, Rajamundry, Rayanapadu, Warangal, Balharshah, Nagpur, Itarsi Junction, Baripada, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantonment, Delhi Safadarjung, Ambala Cantonment and Ludhiana.
Railway officials said its frequency would be decided only after taking a note of its success. The special train service has been hailed by passengers.
