Bishnoi joins as UT DIG

New DIG Omvir Singh Bishnoi joined the UT police on Monday evening. With his joining, the city now has two DIG-rank officers, including Dr OP Mishra. Omvir Singh is a 2004-batch AGMUT-cadre officer, who was earlier posted in Delhi. The MHA had issued Bishnoi’s transfer orders to Chandigarh in January. Apart from being the DIG, UT, Dr Mishra also holds the charge of IG, Prisons.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
