Thailand aims to attract more tourists; hoteliers’ meet held

In a B2B interaction with city-based hotels and stakeholders of tourism industry, a delegation of the Tourism Authority of Thailand laid out their plans to increase tourist traffic in Thailand. A roadshow with 35 sellers, including representatives of hotels, resorts, attractions and airlines from Thailand too was conducted.

Thailand is a popular wedding destination among Indians and it also is a popular tourist attraction for travellers especially from north India. Speaking with media, Isra Stapanaset, director, Tourism Authority of Thailand, said, “We want to invite tourist from India to explore more places of interest in Thailand. The partnerships intend to showcase the best Thailand has to offer to India.”

Charun Ohnmee, deputy governor for policy and planning, Tourism Authority of Thailand, said, “The road show has already been done in New Delhi. Thailand welcomed around 9,78,751 Indians to the country in the first six months of 2019, which is 24 per cent increase as compared to last year. We intend to reach a target of hosting 2 million Indian tourists by year end.”
