31 IPS, 82 PPS officers transferred in Punjab

The Punjab government on Monday reshuffled 31 IPS and 82 PPS officers, including posting four new Inspector Generals of Police at Patiala, Ropar, Bathinda and Ferozepur, while Ludhiana and Amritsar have got a new Commissioner of Police. The SSPs of Muktsar and Faridkot have swapped places.

Rakesh Aggarwal, IG-Security with Chief Minister is the new Commissioner of Police for Ludhiana in place of Sukhchain Singh, who has been posted as Commissioner of Police, Amritsar.

IG Jatinder Singh Aulakh will head the Patiala Range which is home district of the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. The incumbent IG A S Rai has been posted as IG-Headquarters and additional charge of Director, Vigilance Bureau. He had a long stint as Patiala IG.

B Chandra Shekhar is the new IG of Ferozepur Range in place of M S Chinna. Arun Kumar Mittal is IG – Bathinda Range vide M F Farooqui, who has been posted as head of PAP-II Jalandhar. IG-Counter Intelligence Amit Prasad has been given additional charge of IG-Ropar range vide IG V. Neerja, who will handle Community Policing and Women Affairs.

Faridkot SSP Raj Bachan Singh is SSP, Muktsar, now in place of Manjit Singh, who has been posted as SSP-Faridkot.

Following the retirement of DGPs -- BK Bawa and Jasminder Singh, the government has posted DGP Inderpreet Singh Sahota as DGP-Home Guards while Sanjiv Kalra is ADGP-Railways.
