As many as 13 students of JC Bose YMCA University of Science and Technology have been offered a package of Rs28.75 lakh in the ongoing placement drive. It is the highest so far. Last year, Rs27 lakh was the highest package offered to students.

While Amazon, a multinational electronic commerce and cloud computing company, has offered the annual salary package of Rs28.75 lakh to a total of 13 students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CE) and Information Technology (IT) branch, another 30 students have been offered placement by Samsung (Research and Development) at the annual package of Rs12 lakh each. Those who have been selected will undergo internship followed by full-time employment. Claiming that the varsity has emerged as a hub for leading recruiters such as Daikin Air-Conditioning, Danfoss, Hitachi Consulting, HCL, TCS, Samsung and Maruti Suzuki, a spokesperson of the varsity said as many as 188 companies have been involved in the ongoing campus placement against the total of 138 companies that took part last year. Total 200 students who will be graduating in June 2020 have been placed during the drive so far.

VC Dinesh Kumar said the university was accredited ‘A’ grade by NAAC and most of the technical programmes are accredited with the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). As many as 387 students were placed during 2018-19. However, the average package of Rs3.73 lakh per annum offered in 2017-18 has gone up to Rs3.82 lakh per annum, this year.

The varsity has a total intake capacity of 600 students in undergraduate courses (Engineering- BTech) and 54 seats in post-graduate streams (MTech) at present.
