Amrit Kaur takes over as Fatehgarh Sahib DC

Fatehgarh Sahib, October 31

Amrit Kaur Gill took over as the new Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib today.

She replaced Parshant Kumar Goyal. He was from the Tripura cadre on deputation to Punjab and has been sent back to Tripura.

She was earlier serving as the Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. She was accorded warm welcome by officials of the district administration and contingents of the Punjab Police presented a guard of honour.

Before taking the charge, she paid obeisance at Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib and Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib.

Gill started her career in civil services from Fatehgarh Sahib in 1995 as the Assistant Commissioner (Grievances). She is an international cyclist and led the Indian team in World Cycling Championship held in London. She won the gold medal in the Asian Cycling Championship.

Addressing officials, she said punctuality, discipline, transparency and fair dealing will be her priority. She said the district administration is to redress grievances of people and to implement public-oriented schemes at grassroot level.

Earlier, Dr Parshant Goyal was accorded a warm send off.
