Rapper Nelly has been arrested over allegations of rape, following a concert near Seattle. Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr, has been was taken into custody on a second degree rape charge.
Reportedly, the woman reported the alleged rape around 3:45 am on Saturday morning. She said it occurred on the tour bus after Nelly's performance in Seattle that night. Nelly had performed at the nearby White River Amphitheater just hours before on Friday night, police said.
Describing the allegation as “completely fabricated”, rapper's lawyer Scott Rosenblum, in a statement, said, “Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness.” An investigation is underway. The three-time Grammy winning artist is currently in jail. —ANI
