Now, ‘water ATM’ comes up in Mohali

A private company has installed an RO “water ATM” in the Phase IX, Industrial Area, here for the benefit of consumers.

A one-litre bottle of water can be had after dropping in a one-rupee coin in the machine while 20 litre can be got with a Rs 5 coin.

One of the managing directors of the company, Ramandeep Singh Ahluwalia, said a nominal price had been fixed to prevent the misuse of water.

Ramandeep Singh said the company had earlier installed a similar system in a village in Hoshiarpur district where RO water was made available free of cost. However, some people had started misusing the facility given, the MD added.
