Omani ship sinks off Gujarat coast; 17 crew members rescued

ndian Coast Gaurd and state marine police today rescued 17 crew members from a ship from Oman which sank about ten nautical miles from the Pipavav port in Gujarat's Amreli district.

The ship — Abdullah — was heading for Alang ship-breaking yard for decommissioning.

“All 17 of the crew — 15 from Pakistan, five from Yemen and one each from India and Iraq — have been rescued,” said Amreli Superitendent of Police Antrip Sood. PTI
