Man, son booked for Rs 17 lakh fraud

The Dhuri police have booked father-son duo for an alleged fraud of Rs 17 lakh.

As per the FIR, complainant Omwati has alleged that her husband retired from the Railways two years back and the family got Rs 25 lakh as EPF and other retirement benefits. They deposited the amount in a local bank. Ravinder Kumar and his son Shivam Kumar took Rs 12-lakh loan from her around one year back and later both also fraudulently withdrew Rs 5 lakh with her ATM card and refused to return her amount. — TNS
