Karnal, April 2
Parents of students of various schools today approached Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Karan Lake against the alleged charging of exorbitant fee by private schools.
Under the banner of the Abhibhavak Ekta Sangh, they urged the CM to intervene in the matter, so that the fee structure could be regulated.
Dinesh Narula, president of the sangh, while handing over a memorandum to the CM, alleged that several private schools had been charging high fee from parents.
He alleged that despite approaching the district administration several times, no action had been taken against the schools so far.
He said these schools had been forcing the students and parents to purchase books of private publishers instead of the NCERT.
They told the CM that due to administration’s apathy, their wards were being humiliated in the school assembly and classrooms.
The CM asked Mandeep Singh Brar, DC, to look into the matter.
