Abdul Kalam scholarship

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies of University of Sydney is offering Dr Abdul Kalam Scholarships for international students. The scholarship is awarded for Master of Information Technology, Master of Information Technology Management or combined Master of Information Technology/Master of Information Technology Management programme in the Faculty of Engineering and IT.

Eligibility: The scholarship is open for all international applicants who have an offer of admission for a master coursework programme in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at the time of submitting a scholarship application.

Duration: The duration of scholarship is up to one year subject to academic performance.

Details: The scholarship shall be valued at 50 per cent of the tuition fees for the programme and year offered.

Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on academic merit.

Aga Khan Foundation scholarship programme

Applications are invited for Aga Khan Foundation international scholarship programme to undertake postgraduate studies in Architecture, Health, Civil Society, Planning & Building, Culture, Rural Development, Economic Development, Humanitarian Assistance, Education and Music.

The foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies. Scholarships are awarded on a 50 per cent grant: 50 per cent loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July.

Eligibility: The applicants should have excellent academic record.

The foundation only accepts applications of eligible nationals residing in one of the countries where there are local Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), or Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) offices which process applications and interview candidates.

Preference is given to students aged under 30.

Details: The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses only. The cost of travel is not included in AKF scholarships.

How to apply: The application procedures of AKF’s International Scholarship Programme are decentralised. Students may obtain application forms as of January 1 each year from AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services / Boards in their countries of current residence. Completed applications should be returned to the agency from which the form was obtained or to the address indicated on the front of the form.

IIST Fellowship

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is inviting applications from highly motivated candidates for Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme in various frontier research areas of aerospace engineering, avionics, chemistry and physics.

Eligibility: PhD in the relevant area and first class or equivalent at the master’s level. Applicants, whose Doctoral Degree was received more than five years ago as on the last date for receipt of application, are not eligible for consideration.

Age limit: 32 years as on last date receipt of application.

Details: IIST-PDF Fellowship will be Rs40,000 pm (all inclusive).
