As many as 1,016 graduate and 608 post graduate students were awarded degrees at the convocation ceremony held at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib, learleir this week. Twenty eight students were given gold medals for academic performance on the occasion.
Dr. P.G. Chengappa, former Vice-Chancellor of University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and National Professor of ICAR, New Delhi, presided over the event as the chief guest. S. Ranjit Singh Libra, Honorary Secretary of the College Governing Body was the special guest.
The college is presently running 28 PG and 24 UG courses. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kashmir Singh, Director Principal of the college, highlighted the academic, sports and co-curricular achievements of the institution and told that it has been certified 'A' grade from NAAC, conferred the status of Autonomous College and Star College and has also entered into agreements to provide students with higher education in foreign institutions. — TNS
