At the blink of an eye… weekend flies with a boom! Its Monday, the dreadful day.  Not only, the weekend is over, but the thought of waking up early and begin with the office schedule, clearing files on the table, completing assignments and tasks, is what kills our buzz after the weekend. The more you think about it, the worse it gets, and that, certainly is not a good start to the week.

And if you are nodding in assent to all these points, then you have a bad case of Monday blues! Nothing to worry about, almost all of us face the same situation on a Monday morning. So, how to deal with it?

Here are a few things you can do that can help you fight Monday blues and welcome the week with a chirpy smile!

Positive intention

Have the intention to go about the day positively. The best way to achieve this is to start early and go for a brisk walk or an energising run. This will help you shed the lathargy of lazy weekend mornings. Music is another way to add positive intention to your day. So listen to your favourite song or tune first thing in the morning.

 Look good feel good

Monday is the day, when you should look sharp and fabulous, because much of your confidence comes from the way you dress up. You will be amazed how much the clothes you wear can affect how you feel. And not to mention the mood lifting compliments you will receive from your colleagues.

Prepare the pitch on Friday

There is nothing painful than walking into your cubicle on Monday morning to see piled up work from last week staring at you. So, make it a habit to clear all pending work and send mails for next week on Friday only. This way not only will your work be more organised, but you will also have the first half of the day relatively less busy.

Socialise

Embrace tea break or lunch break as an opportunity to catch up with your team mates and peers. An engaging conversation is the perfect recipe to set the mood for an engaging day at work.

Now that you know how to beat these Monday blues spend the day pleasantly.

Do not skip breakfast

Food stimulates your body and nothing beats depression better than your favorite food. Monday blues can be tackled with some delicious breakfast and mood lifting foods. So, do not rush to office on Monday by skipping your breakfast.

List urgent and important tasks

Being prepared is surely a good way of dealing with Monday blues. So get your ‘to do’ list for the new week ready. When you have a properly planned schedule, you will feel in control and   less burdened by Monday blues.
