IIFT wins National Final of CFA Institute Research Challenge

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) emerged as the winner of the National Final ofCFA Institute Research Challenge in India which was held in Mumbai on February 4, 2017. The institute's team of five consisting of AkshatKabra, Karishma Jain, PranavSanghai, PrasiddhaBhajiawala and Sameer Sood edged out several of the top B-schools in bagging the top honour.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global equity research competition that aims to promote best practices in equity research and valuation among university students and also tests their investment report writing and presentation skills. Started in 2006, the challenge is also referred to as the Investment Olympics as students from the top universities of the world compete in it. Last year, more than 4000 students from about 865 universities in 70 countries participated in the challenge.

After being announced as the North Zone Winners, IIFT competed against the likes of FMS, XLRI, IIM Ranchi, IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, JBIMS and NMIMS Mumbai in the National Final to progress to the next round. It will now represent India in the Asia Pacific Regional Investment Research Challenge hosted by CFA Institute in March 2017. The AP Challenge will consist of winners from each Member Society of the Asia Pacific Region including the top 3 winners from India.The winners will advance to the Global final to be held in April 2017.

IFIM Law College inks MoU with NLS, Bangalore

IFIM Law College has signed an MoU with National Law School of India, Bangalore to offer additional options to its students to broaden their horizon in Law. The MoU focuses on the following areas:

  • Encouraging Joint Publications between the faculties of both institutes
  • Conducting Research Stay Programs for faculty members
  • Hosting of Joint events such as Moot Court Competitions and Executive training programs
  • Collaborating on joint clinical programs for law students
  • Sharing of resources between the institutes and conducting mentorship programs for the students

Sirish Tamvada, Dean, IFIM Law College said, "This MoU was signed to increase exposure and to ensure the enhancement of skills of the students studying at IFIM Law College. Collaborating with NLS is a big milestone for us in terms of growth of the college." —TNS
