Yale University (USA) and the Tata Group (India) have launched a research collaboration to build on their shared strengths in discovery, technology, and innovation. The alliance will be led at Yale by Nicholas Christakis, co-director of the Yale Institute for Network Science (YINS) and the Sol Goldman Family Professor of Social and Natural Science.

The Tata Group has committed to fund the alliance over five years. The project will foster an intellectual exchange between the university and three Tata companies: Tata Sons, Tata Consultancy Services, and Tata Chemicals. The initial aim of the alliance is to expand research and its application in fields ranging from network science to data science to healthcare. During each year of the agreement, Yale will also host visiting Tata scholars, who will actively participate in the research projects.

Gradeup launches CAT and JEE modules

Mobile test preparation community Gradeup recently added courses for CAT and JEE exams to its repertoire. With this launch, Gradeup is now catering to more than 70 per cent of the test prep market in India. Within the first three weeks of the launch, the new modules have been downloaded by over 50,000 students with the total user base (for Gradeup app) crossing 16 lakh users across 190+ cities. On an average an user spends approximately 30 minutes on Gradeup per day.

Gradeup has received a huge number of registrations from Delhi, Maharashtra, Kolkata, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.

Driving training campaign

Strategic Investment and Skill Development organisation RISE India has launched the largest National Driving Training campaign, in alliance with NSDC and Ola.

The largest National Driving Training Campaign was launched  at Chhapra, Bihar in order to create a conducive environment for generation of employment. The first centre at Chhapra was inaugurated by  Nitin Gadkari,  Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping and Rajiv Pratap Rudy,  Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. In the next seven years, RISE INDIA strives to provide effective driving training to over 2.5 lakh candidates and at the same time, upgrade skills of another 2.5 lakh existing drivers, highlighting issues such as road etiquette and imbibing its trainees with advanced driving skills. — TNS
