Thapar University ties up with Tel Aviv University

Thapar University, Patiala has signed a comprehensive institutional agreement with Tel Aviv University Israel (TAU) . The MOU includes research, teaching and student exchange.

Both universities have agreed to establish a programme for academic cooperation. From the perspective of students, this agreement brings the benefits of credit transfer programs in engineering and life sciences, participation in TAU’s summer programs, post-doctoral fellowships and semester exchange opportunities.

The universities will also work together in research. Joint proposals to funding bodies and institutions are also envisaged. With over a hundred research centres, TAU “is defined by ground-breaking research, leading researchers and faculty, a strong interdisciplinary focus, and the values of globalism, pluralism and social responsibility.” On signing the agreement, Prof Joseph Klafter, President TAU said, “like Thapar, we’re strong in engineering and management, and also have a wide spectrum of departments across the sciences, humanities and arts.” — TNS

New course
