Educational Testing Service (ETS) will award a total of $70,000 as TOEFL scholarships to 10 exceptional students valued at $7,000 each, in India who have proven their academic excellence. The TOEFL Scholarships and Giving programme supports a variety of educational initiatives aimed at helping students worldwide achieve their academic goals. The program mein India recognises TOEFL test takers who are in pursuit of undergraduate or graduate study in India or abroad.
Eligibility: The applicants will be evaluated on English-communication skills, academic record, leadership skills and extracurricular activities. Specifically, to be eligible for the TOEFLscholarship award, applicants must:
- Be a resident of India
- Begin undergraduate or graduate study between June 2015 and May 2016 at a university or college listed in the TOEFL Destination Search at www.toeflgoanywhere.org
- hold a grade-point average of 80 or higher on a 100-point scale, or a 3.0 grade-point average or higher on a 4-point scale
- demonstrate English proficiency with a valid TOEFL score
How to apply: Students must apply online between June 15 and August 3. Semifinalists will be notified in August and winners will be announced in October.

International Master’s Excellence Scholarships
The Faculty of Medical Sciences of Newcastle University, UK, is offering scholarships amounting £1,500 for 2015 entry into the Medical Sciences MSc course and several MRes courses. These Scholarships are available to self funding Non EU students.
Eligibility: The applicants must:
- Hold an offer and register on a degree-awarding postgraduate course at Newcastle University
- Be a graduate of Newcastle University. That is, one must have qualified (or be due to qualify) on a full undergraduate or postgraduate degree eg: BA, BSc, BEng, LLB, MA, MSc, MPhil, PhD, MLitt, Med, MEng, MChem, MMath
- Be wholly or partially self-financing for the tuition fee element of the course

Journalism in Agricultural Research & Development
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is offering Chaudhary Charan Singh excellence award to recognise outstanding contribution in journalism in Agricultural Research & Development.
Eligibility: An individual who has writing/analyzing/reporting for eligible for this award. Made significant contribution by way of the enhancement/promotion of Indian Agriculture is eligible for this award.

Selection Criteria: The Judging committee will screen the nominations, identify outstanding entries and make recommendations to the Council. If no outstanding application is received, no award will be given. The criteria includes area coverage in extent, content, relevance and quality for improvement in Agricultural Research and Development to create awareness among the fanners/policy makers during the preceding three years.
