Lynchburg College tie-up with KIIT Gurgaon

KIIT College, Gurgaon, has signed an MoU with Lynchburg College, Virginia(USA)  to strengthen research and development activities between the educational institutes. Dr. Kenneth R. Garren President Lynchburg College was present on the occasion. “The agreement seeks to promote quality education and boost research culture amongst students of respective country by conceivable academic, cultural, extracurricular and other collaborative projects/assignments,” said BR Kamrah Chairman of KIIT College. There will be focus on areas of academic and administrative personnel exchange, and developing research proposals. As a result some  students from KIIT  will visit Lynchburg college  for their research projects in the next academic session. The research projects will be carried out in areas such as, engineering, business & education.

Infosys Foundation to provide 24cr to IIIT-Delhi

Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic  arm of Infosys,  will provide a corpus grant worth Rs 24 crore over the next three years to the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi to establish the Infosys Center for Artificial Intelligence in its Okhla campus.

The centre will initially be headed by Dr. Srikanth Saripalli, an expert in robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), currently spending his sabbatical at IIIT-Delhi. The centre will facilitate work on both fundamental and applied aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and focus on areas such as, robotics, machine learning, computer vision, AI for software systems, large-scale data analytics, etc. Several faculty members of IIIT-Delhi will be associated with the center, and research will be conducted by PhD scholars, post-docs, students, and visiting researchers.

IMS students win design contest

The team of students from IMS - Design & Innovation Academy, Noida (IMS DIA), won third prize in the national level competition IMAGINE held at Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore recently. The team comprising Jhalak Agarwal (from Batch 2014-15), Shubham Singh (from Batch 2014-2015) and Karan Singh (from batch 2012-13) of interior design department won the prize for their design of 'Bus Stop at bus stand for Fragile People'.  The designs comprises of 'a blind stick converted into sitting chair'; 'a separate waiting area for fragile population at the railway platform' and 'a bus stop at bus stand with right provisions for fragile people, etc. As many as 140 groups were registered from all across the country.  "IMAGINE" the National Convention is a mega event organised by Indian Institute of Interior Designers IIID once in 2 years based on a particular theme.
