AmritaWNA has issued early warnings about imminent landslides multiple times during 2009, 2011, 2013, 2018 and 2019 in Munnar and has managed to garner people's faith in the system, leading to early safety evacuation, saving many lives. The IoT technology used, allows the system to scale and multi-scale and the scientific validity of the same has been discussed in more than 50 journals across the world.

The University has been awarded the title for its efficacy in developing and deploying such a system in most landslide prone areas in both Western Ghats and Himalayas, by world's top scientists. — TNS
