Ludhiana, February 4
The PAU authorities have once again become strict about the entry of outsiders on the university campus. The PAU authorities have prohibited the entry of visitors from Gate No. 1 after 9:30 am. The vehicles having “PAU stickers” can enter from Gate No. 1 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. According to sources, the PAU authorities area also keen on closing Gate No. 3 after working hours to check the movement of outsiders on the campus.
However, students and faculty members also face inconvenience due to this strictness. They have to enter the campus from Gate No. 2.
According to information, some senior PAU officials observed the movement of outsiders on campus on Friday. They asked the security personnel to check the entry of outsiders from all gates.
Karanveer Singh Sandhu, a student representative, said: “It is good to be strict with outsiders but the gate should not be closed for everyone. The security personnel stop even students at Gate No 1. We will discuss the issue with the authorities”.
Dr Prabjot Singh Sandhu, security officer, PAU, said: “We haven’t implemented any new rule with regard to the entry to the campus. The rules already exist. We have implemented them. There is no restriction on the entry of students and genuine visitors”.
