Former minister Ajatshatru Singh today campaigned for BJP candidate from the Nagrota constituency Nand Kishore Sharma.
Ajatshatru Singh toured several villages of the constituency and held a series of meeting urging people to vote for the BJP to bring pro-Jammu party to power in J&K.
He appealed to people to bring BJP to power in the state so that J&K became a corruption-free state, which according to him was the hurdle in the route of development.
"The National Conference and Congress did not do much to develop the state and left it underdeveloped," Ajatshatru said. He said the residents of J&K would see a new era of development if the BJP was given a chance to form the new government.
Nand Kishore said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the BJP would provide a transparent government, free of corruption. He stated that the BJP-led NDA government in the Centre had performed up to the expectations of public in just four-five months of its tenure and it had great plans for the state.
